Our History...

The Joseph F. Weldy Home was established in 1991. The Weldy Home is a DHR licensed, basic residential group home for girls, ages 6-18. Our mission is to provide a safe and loving home to those children who have been abused and neglected. When the Weldy Home opened, it originally served both males and females, however, in 2003, this changed to serve only the female population. The Weldy Home is a nonprofit organization dedicated to serving the needs of these young girls throughout the state of Alabama. The Weldy Home offers children safety, security, and structure by providing food and shelter to the girls in need, educational opportunities, and support services. We are committed to making a positive impact on the lives of the residents we serve.
